Osaka University Venture Capital (OUVC) was established in December 2014 as a 100% subsidiary of Osaka University, with a mission to create social value from the world-class research outcomes of Osaka University through a global perspective. It is based on the vision of Osaka University, which aims to become one of the world’s leading innovative universities contributing to societal transformation. OUVC implements university research outcomes into society, identifies arising challenges in the process, contributes to the cyclic research and development ecosystem by providing feedback to the university’s research, and takes on the challenge of realizing a prosperous societal future.
We manage two funds, including the OUVC 2nd Investment Business Limited Liability Partnership, established in January 2021, and have been actively supporting the pre-startup stage research outcomes and fostering business growth. With the accumulated experiences and achievements, we are expanding our activities beyond Osaka University’s research outcomes to support startups from other national universities, broadening our horizons even further.
Through investment, we act as a driving force for innovation by commercializing and supporting business ventures based on university research. We aim to achieve “societal contributions” and “internationally recognized startups,” providing attractive value to the stakeholders of Osaka University Venture Capital. Our team is committed to advancing in this direction.
